Truefitt's first citrus fragrances were originally formulated in the 1870s and quickly became favorites of Queen Victoria, as well as the gentlemen and ladies of her court. Truefitt's perfumers blended the Imperial Bouquet especially for Queen Victoria in 1876 to celebrate her crowning as Empress of India. It was a floral fougère with spicy, exotic top notes of citrus and orange blossom, and it is the scent from which today's West Indian Limes fragrance evolved. A refreshing, spicy fragrance in which lively top notes of exotic lime and bergamot meet notes of lilac, lavender and rose over an orange blossom base.
