NetherlandsThe story of the Reuzel brand begins in the heart of Rotterdam, in the famous barber shop Schorem Haarsnijder en Barbier, a place where traditional barbering has acquired a modern identity. The founders, Leen Bokhorst and Bertus Janssen, have built a reputation over the years exclusively doing classic men’s haircuts, relying on old-school techniques and an uncompromising approach to quality.
They weren’t ready to compromise with what they had available — so they decided to make something of their own. Not something trendy, but something that works in a real barbershop environment day in and day out. Thus was born Reuzel, a name that means “grease” in Dutch, a tribute to the old pomades used by generations before them.
